Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. If you’ve lost all or some of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health.
It will take a few weeks to get used to your new dentures. During this period they may feel odd or loose. Few in-office adjustments may be needed. The muscles of your cheek and tongue need time to learn how to keep them in place. You may experience minor irritation or soreness and your saliva flow may temporarily increase. These problems will diminish as you adjust to your new dentures. Please contact us if any of those problems persists for more than a month.
Dentures are very similar to natural teeth. They will retain food particles and plaque, and they may stain over time. You need to maintain them just like maintaingn your natural teeth.
Our goal is to ensure the most pleasant dental experience possible for our patients.
